Example - Accelerating Motorcycle

A motorcycle starts with an initial velocity of 0 km/h (0 m/s) and accelerates to 120 km/h (33.3 m/s) in 5 seconds.

Average Velocity:

  • va = (33.3 m/s + 0 m/s) / 2 = 16.7 m/s

Distance Traveled:

  • s = (0 m/s + 33.3 m/s) × 5 s / 2 = 83.3 m

Acceleration:

  • a = (33.3 m/s - 0 m/s) / 5 s = 6.7 m/s²
