Air - Absolute Humidity

Absolute humidity is the actual mass of water vapor present in the air water vapor mixture. It can be expressed in SI units (kg/m³, g/m³) or imperial units (lbs/ft³, gr/ft³).

Absolute Humidity Calculator

Absolute humidity is the actual mass of water vapor present in an air-water vapor mixture.

Unit Systems

SI Units:

  • kg/m³ (kilograms of water vapor per cubic meter)
  • g/m³ (grams of water vapor per cubic meter)

Imperial Units:

  • lbs/ft³ (pounds of water vapor per cubic foot)
  • gr/ft³ (grains of water vapor per cubic foot)

Formula

Absolute Humidity is calculated as the mass of water vapor divided by the volume of the air-water vapor mixture:

$$AH = \frac{m_{H_2O}}{V}$$

Where:

  • AH = Absolute Humidity
  • m_H₂O = Mass of water vapor
  • V = Volume of air-water vapor mixture
