Area Survey App

Use this application to make an exact plot of a room, a property or any two dimensional area. Measure distances and angles, calculate side lengths, diagonals and angles. Export the plot to Sketchup or other CAD systems.

How to Use

Make the reference line A - B (a virtual or physical line between two points)
Measure the distance A - B
Mark measure points clockwise from 1 to 9
Measure distances from control points A and B to each measure point
Click Calculate to generate the survey plot

Plot Colors:

Control line A - B: black
Measured lines: purple
Calculated sides and angles: red
Calculated diagonals: green

Calculated Results

After entering your measurements and clicking Calculate, the following will be computed:

Calculated Angles: Internal angles at each measured point
Calculated Sides: Side lengths connecting consecutive points
Calculated Diagonals: Diagonal distances across the surveyed area

Export Options

Sketchup Export: Copy the Cartesian x,y coordinates to paste into the Engineering ToolBox extension "Lines made from Custom Points"

SVG File: Export as SVG format for use with drawing, CAD and web applications

CAD Compatible: Plain Cartesian coordinates can be transferred to almost any CAD system
