Formula

Friction Loss = (Reference Loss / Reference Length) × Hose Length

Example

For a 3/4" hose with 90 psi pressure and 30 cfm flow rate:

  • Reference friction loss: 0.4 psi per 50 ft
  • For a 10 ft hose: (0.4 psi / 50 ft) × 10 ft = 0.08 psi
