Viscosity Conversion Calculator

Viscosity is a measure of a fluid's resistance to flow. There are two related measures:

  • Dynamic (Absolute) Viscosity: A measure of internal resistance, typically expressed in Pa·s or cP
  • Kinematic Viscosity: The ratio of absolute viscosity to density, typically expressed in cSt or m²/s

Key Relationships:

  • ν = μ / ρ (Kinematic viscosity = Dynamic viscosity / Density)
  • 1 cP = 0.001 Pa·s
  • 1 cSt = 10⁻⁶ m²/s = 1 mm²/s
