Heating Systems - Steam and Condensate Loads
Calculate steam and condensate loads for steam heated systems including heat transfer through areas and heating up materials, with support for both heat quantity and heat rate calculations.
Heating Systems - Steam and Condensate Loads
This tool calculates steam and condensate loads in steam heated systems for two basic situations:
1. Heat Transfer through Areas
Q = U × A × dt
- Q = quantity of heat transferred through the area
- U = heat transfer coefficient
- A = heat transfer area
- dt = temperature difference between the steam and secondary fluid
2. Heating up Materials
Q = w × cp × (t₂ - t₁)
- w = weight of material
- cp = specific heat of the heated material
- t₁ = initial temperature
- t₂ = final temperature
Heat Transfer Rate
Q' = Q / (L × h)
- L = Latent heat of steam
- h = available time
