Insulated Steam Pipes - Condensate Generated (kg/h per 100m)

Calculate condensate generated due to heat loss in insulated steam pipes. Heat loss from steam pipes generates condensate which must be drained from the system. This tool uses a lookup table based on steam pressure and pipe size, with surrounding temperature of 20°C and 80% insulation efficiency.

Notes

  • Table is based on a surrounding temperature of 20°C with 80% insulation efficiency compared with uninsulated pipes
  • At a surrounding temperature of -20°C, approximately 50% additional condensate load should be added
  • Values are per 100 meters of pipe length
  • 1 inch = 25.4 mm
