Kirchhoff's Voltage and Current Laws
A tool for analyzing electric circuits using Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL) and Kirchhoff's Voltage Law (KVL). Calculate unknown currents and voltages in circuit junctions and loops.
Kirchhoff's Laws Calculator
Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL)
At any junction in an electric circuit, the total current flowing towards the junction is equal to the total current flowing away from the junction.
Formula: Σ I = I₁ + I₂ + ... + Iₙ = 0
Kirchhoff's Voltage Law (KVL)
In a closed loop in a network, the sum of the voltage drops around the loop is zero.
Formula: Σ U = U₁ + U₂ + ... + Uₙ = 0
