LNG - Liquefied Natural Gas

LNG or Liquefied Natural Gas. Natural Gas cooled down to condensate at -161°C (-258°F). Calculate conversions and properties of liquefied natural gas including volume and density relationships.

LNG - Liquefied Natural Gas

LNG is Natural Gas cooled down to condensate at -161°C (-258°F).

Natural gas consists primarily of methane. Impurities and heavy hydrocarbons from the gaseous fossil fuel are removed before the cooling process.

Key Properties:

  • Density range: 410 to 500 kg/m³
  • Volume ratio: Liquid volume is approximately 1/600 of gaseous volume at atmospheric conditions
