Room Sensible Heat Factor - RSHF

Room Sensible Heat Factor - RSHF - is defined as the sensible heat load divided by the total heat load in a room. It expresses the ratio between sensible heat load and total heat load in a room.

Room Sensible Heat Factor - RSHF

RSHF is defined as:

RSHF = Qsr / Qtr

Where:

  • RSHF = Room sensible heat factor
  • Qsr = Sensible heat load in room (kW, Btu/hr)
  • Qtr = Total heat load in room (kW, Btu/hr)

Alternative Formula:

RSHF = cp (tr - ti) / (hr - hi)

Where:

  • cp = Specific heat of air (kJ/kg·°C)
  • tr = Room temperature (°C)
  • ti = Inlet temperature (°C)
  • hr = Room enthalpy (kJ/kg)
  • hi = Inlet enthalpy (kJ/kg)
