The Sensible Heat Ratio (SHR) is calculated using:

SHR = cp × (to - ti) / (ho - hi)

Where:

  • cp = Specific heat of air (kJ/kg·°C)
  • to = Outlet air temperature (°C)
  • ti = Inlet air temperature (°C)
  • ho = Outlet moist air enthalpy (kJ/kg)
  • hi = Inlet moist air enthalpy (kJ/kg)

SHR ranges from 0 to 1, where higher values indicate more sensible cooling/heating relative to latent load.
