Work Done
Work done in angular motion is calculated as:
W = T × θ
Where:
- W = work done (Nm or J)
- T = torque (Nm)
- θ = angle (radians)
Power Transmitted
Power transmitted can be calculated from torque and rotational speed:
P = 0.105 × n_rpm × T
Where:
- P = power (Watts)
- n_rpm = speed (rev/min, rpm)
- T = torque (Nm)
Required Torque to Produce Power
To find the torque required to produce a given power:
T = P / (2π × n)
Or using rpm directly:
T = P / (0.105 × n_rpm)
Where:
